Forever
“Five more minutes!”
Jean barely heard Levi's yell as he was focused on Mikasa. She was crouching low with her unmoving dark eyes trained on him. His forearms were sore from blocking her punches, and he'd yet to land any on her.
Beautiful and deadly. That's my Mikasa.
He charged suddenly, feinting to the left, to then abruptly change directions. He skidded in the dirt and threw out his right fist...
...only to have her grab it with her lightening reflexes and toss him over her shoulder. He landed on his back with an oomph.
“Oww.” Jean blinked at the two Mikasa's swimming in front him, hands held out to him. He shook his head, waiting for the Mikasa's to converge into just one. Once his head stopped spinning he took her proffered hand and sat up.
“It's a good thing she went easy on you Kirschstein, I don't know if you would have lived through this otherwise.” Levi Heichou's voice carried some mix of amusement and disdain. “Did you get soft or so

Nightmare
Mikasa sat upright, gasping for air. She pushed back the hair plastered to her forehead, grimacing at how sweat soaked her shirt was.
No light showed through the window yet, and she could hear the light breathing of Sasha and Historia. It must be the middle of the night right now. Too early to get up for the day, but Mikasa knew there was no way she would be able to fall back asleep any time soon.
It's been awhile since I've dreamt. I want to go back to not having dreams.
Mikasa hugged herself, willing away the remnants of her dream. When she closed her eyes she could still see the corpses of her friends littering the ground. She could hear the bones snapping when Jean had been eaten, when Eren in his titan form had been ripped apart, Armin swallowed whole, Sasha's arm laying next to her, and a titan reaching for her now, bent leg not allowing her to run...
She jumped out of bed in a rush to just move and think of something else.
Anything else, she hissed at the cold floor.
Not wanting

It shone. Finally.
With a small sigh of relief, Mikasa leaned back and stretched, joints popping with her movement. She'd just spent over an hour meticulously cleaning, oiling and polishing her 3DMG, and the effort showed.
Everything gleamed to a point of perfection that Levi Heichou would have absolutely nothing to complain about. Smiling in satisfaction that she was finally done, she spared a glance at the young man next to her.
Jean was leaning back, arms crossed, feet stretched out under the table, and eyes closed. His gear was already done. Leather oiled, joints scrubbed and oiled, polished and ready to go. She took a moment to appreciate the defined arm muscles she could see through his linen shirt. It had taken almost getting killed for her to notice him, but now that she had, it was hard to ignore him.
He had been arrogant and almost childish when they first met, him picking fights with Eren and squabbling so easily. But now? Now he had matured into a fine leader, he and Eren h

Safe with him
The sun was really bright today. It shone with an almost obnoxious quality, washing out the blue of the sky and reflecting off everything. Trees, grass, the stable, all of it somehow reflected the light a hundred fold. It glared into the eyes of a young man the moment he walked outside, dirt crunching under his boots.
Jean groaned and lifted a hand up to shade his eyes from the sun's glare, and meandered slowly to the stables. In the past, as a kid, the sun would lift his mood and he'd be thrilled to be done with the night. But now, as a soldier of the Scouting Legion, he thinks upon the sun with a certain amount of weariness. Sunlight energizes the titans. Titans roam beyond the walls. The walls have been broken by titans before. ...and titans were quite possibly originally humans. Every mission they had experienced, they'd killed titans. Every mission that they had experienced, titans had eaten humans.
Ahhh, now I'm thinking about that again. Great. If only I could just turn off my o

She looked pale. Her skin was naturally a bit on the creamy porcelain side of the scale, but today it looked different. It seemed almost translucent. Her eyes looked even darker in comparison, and her lips had a bit less color to them too.
Jean watched Mikasa gracefully walk across the room, arms full of firewood. She was acting normal enough. Well, slightly more quiet and moody than normal, but she was still active. Probably more than she should be though. She said her ribs healed fine, but how does one heal from such wounds in such a short span of time?
Mikasa dumped the firewood in the box designated for it, and sneezed when the dust reached her nose. She let out a slight gasp and held a hand to her side, eyes closing briefly in pain.
Jean was halfway up out of his chair when she fixed a dark glare on him.
“I'm fine. Back off.” She hissed.
Quickly raising his hands in a pacifying motion, he walked towards her slowly.
“Mikasa. I know you want to be fine, but...

Jean tipped back his mug, allowing the beverage to burn down his throat. It wasn't the greatest of the wines, but it served well enough.
Marco's voice in his head was fading with time, but some of his words echoed loudly enough still.
"You should just tell her."
"Jean, someday you'll have to tell her."
"You can't practice with me forever, you know..."
Jean sighed and swirled the vine in his mug, mournfully gazing at himself in the reflection. Someday he'd tell her. Maybe. He hunched forward, cursing to himself.
"Just talk to her." The low voice startled Jean out of his thoughts. He whipped his head up to look at Lance Corporal Levi. Levi was leaning back in his chair, mug of tea in his hand, eyes glittering. "You can't worship her from a distance forever. Man up and talk to her at least."
He almost choked on his liquor.
Seriously? Now Levi was getting on his case too? Really?
The brunette wondered how Levi knew, but before he could follow that thought fully, he was already admitting to

Intrigued
He had always liked her hair; black and shiny.
He could only imagine the feel of it in his hands. He imagined it being soft to the touch and light as air; delicate as her beauty, but just as strong as her. Jean had always wanted to just reach out and touch it, to smooth Mikasa's hair down and hug her whenever she was upset.
But instead he'd just stood back and watched her hide  behind her glossy veil of hair. He wondered if he'd ever get lucky enough to touch it. Maybe. Maybe one day.
A small snort to his left shook Jean out of his thoughts.  Tearing his gaze away from Mikasa, he looked at Armin.
“You ok?” He asked the blonde.
Armin looked at Jean with a small smile. “If you're trying to announce to everyone that you like Mikasa, you're doing a great job at it. If you're trying to be subtle, you're definitely failing.”
Jean glanced around his table, cheeks flushing scarlet when he realized that everyone was looking at him with snickers. Nothing really

He'd just walked into the biggest mess he had witnessed in a long time.
Books were piled haphazardly throughout the small room, papers sticking out different books at random, corners bent and crumpled. Papers, piled near books, on books, on the desk, on two chairs, by the file drawer. Little bits of colored paper were stuck to books and papers in no discernible pattern. And the walls. Papers, some writing, some sketches, some graphs, all with colored papers stuck to them with writing scribbled on them, stuck on the walls. And then there was her. Asleep in her chair, back bent at an awkward angle with her head back as she snored lightly.
Unsurprised, Levi closed the door behind him quietly as he stepped into the room. He walked up to the desk, and sighed internally at the sight of the empty mugs and scraped off dinner plates hiding under the desk. Messy woman.
Moving silently, he gently placed the tray he was carrying onto the most clear space in the desk, being careful to not spill a d

His hands were doused in blood. Grimacing, he pulled out a cloth to wipe his hands and blade handle.
"Hey Levi, what number was that? Four?" Erwin walked up behind Levi, shaking blood off his own blades. His expression brightened when Levi nodded. "Excellent. I knew you'd do well out here. Now keep moving, we've got a bit further to go before we can drop supplies at the base and head back."
Levi nodded again while listening to Hanji hollering excitedly in the distance. He wondered idly where the woman's endless energy came from. He finished wiping his hands on the cloth, tucked it neatly away, then shot off to the next zone.

Gut-wrenching screams filled the air, and Levi followed them. He zipped around a tree to see another fresh recruit like himself, but this one was half in the mouth of a titan, shrieking in fear and pain. Levi quickly shot an anchor point into the titan's neck and arched closer, closer...
With a sickening crunch the titan closed its jaws fully and the top half o

Everyone dies
It doesn't matter how good a soldier you are. Eventually you'll be in the wrong place at the wrong time and you'll be eaten. Plain and simple.
Mike had been an excellent soldier. Second to Levi, in fact. And now? He was missing, and presumed dead.
This is why Hanji didn't ever want to be in love.
In this profession, it was an unneeded emotion. By the time you get to know someone well enough to actually love them, they were gone. It was a cold, hard, painful fact.
Tomorrow was not guaranteed.
These thoughts bouncing in her head, it was no surprise that Hanji couldn't sleep. Deciding it was pointless to continue the farce of sleeping, she rolled out of her disheveled bed and lit a candle. Shivering in the cool night air, she grabbed a casual pair of pants and a t-shirt off her chair to pull on. She was just pulling on her socks when someone knocked on her door.
knock knock
"Come in." Hanji called out, already guessing as to which two people it could be.
The door opened and

Grass
Hanji grinned when Levi rolled, turned and faced her, eyes narrowed in deadly concentration. He had green splotches running up and down the side of his white shirt, and she was willing to bet they were on the back too. The grass stains were most heavy on his left side where he'd rolled to evade her kick. Oh, this was getting better and better.
He darted forward, bent slightly to keep his center gravity down. He threw a punch that she blocked, but his leg snapped forward at the same time to sweep her legs out from under her. With a painful 'whoof!' she fell on her back. She rolled to the side before he could strike again, moving as quickly to her feet as her hurting back could. Sweat was dripping down her forehead, but she didn't want to wipe it off yet, for fear that he'd attack when her hand was up and her sides would be unguarded.
They circled slowly, eying each other, waiting for the other to move. Predictably, they both surged forward at the same time, Levi doing the same as before

Somehow, they were friends.
She wondered about it occasionally. She knew it was sometimes gossiped about. She also knew that it had caused some raised eyebrows and speculation when they first became friends. How could a former thug like him and a former rich kid get along so well? They were so different, in their personalities, how they were raised, life experiences leading up to the military... There was so much distance in their commonalities, and yet they were friends.
Sure, there were moments they'd ignore each other, or pick on each other until the other exploded. But people saw what they wanted to see. So, of course people focused on their titles, and not on them as human beings themselves. Levi, humanity’s strongest soldier, the former thug. Hanji, research scientist, the crazy titan-lover. Very few were aware of how Levi mourned each life lost. How Hanji did all she could with her research to find the answer, to save lives, to give Levi the best edge possible.

Blood rained down, drenching Hanji. She swiped with one hand at her glasses, clearing them just enough to blurrily see. The titan fell behind her. Ignoring it, she continued to press the strip of cloth against the soldier's stump. Blood, this time human, seeped through the makeshift bandage, staining her hands red. Hearing the quiet footsteps behind her, she turned her head.
“I need to make a tourniquet. And...” Hanji paused as Levi ripped the green tunic on the ground into strips. She held the bandages firmly in place as he deftly wrapped the tourniquet around the soldier's thigh. The man groaned as Levi tightened it.
Levi looked up at Hanji, frowning as titan blood steamed off her. “Can you even see? You're filthy.”
Hanji nodded absently as she yanked the unconscious soldier's shirt up, exposing bruised flesh. She pulled the glasses off her head and handed them to Levi without looking.

Vision of the Future
LeviHan Week, Day 1, Prompt: Vision
The sunset was beautiful.
Oranges swirled with pink fluff, traces of yellow lining the clouds, and it all faded back into blue, the further from the sun one looked. It was simple, and gorgeous. Hanji leaned sideways and nudged her companion.
"What are you thinking of?"
Levi's gaze didn't waver, eyes fixated on the distant horizon. The sunset bathed his face in pink and orange hues, giving his complexion a rosy appearance. He grunted when Hanji nudged him again.
"What are you thinking of?"
His charcoal eyes flicked to her face, and then back out, over the wall. "What will you do when it's all over? When the titans are gone?" he asked her.
Hanji leaned back on her elbows, face up to the slow blooming night sky. "Mmmm...I don't know. Continue researching titans? If all the answers haven't been found yet?" She turned, studying his profile a moment before turning up to the sky again. "A lot will probably depend on who's still around. How has the human pop

I'm a nerdy housewife and seamstress. With two little boys, my time for any work is minimal, but I do enjoy any time I get costuming or making clothes for my family.

Over the years, we've cosplayed multiple times Roy and Riza from Full Metal Alchemist, and we've also cosplayed Shunsui and Nanao from Bleach. We've also started working on our long term cosplay of a steampunk couple known as Mr. & Mrs. Worthington.

We also enjoy time as a family at local renaissance faires, so we have quite an extensive costume collection for that era, as well as a few other time periods of specific interest.
